The Ohio University Office of Information Technology (OIT) is enhancing the student experience by streamlining the onboarding process.
Incoming students will automatically receive a confirmation email with their OHIO ID and OHIO email address to their recovery email address upon activating their OHIO accounts.
Traditionally, students had to manually record this information during activation, which sometimes led to challenges later. By sending this account information directly to their recovery account, OIT aims to eliminate the need for manual recording and ensure immediate access to essential login details. The password, however, will not be included in the confirmation email. Students are encouraged to remember their password during the activation process. If the password is not remembered, students have various options to reset it themselves or find assistance.
This change aims to create a smoother transition for students, empowering them to engage with University resources effectively from the start of their journey at OHIO.
