The Mechanical Behavior of Materials Group (MBMG) specializes in material characterization and development of advanced manufacturing processes. The group uses a range of common Nondestructive methods in conventional and novel ways to characterize material response to external loads in situ and ex situ. MBMG leverages these methods to identify defects during manufaturing processes such as extrusion and additve methods to predict the remaining useful life of material systems.
