Student Veteran and Military Scholarship
We value the unique perspectives and diverse experiences active-duty military personnel and veterans bring to our community of working professionals.
Current active duty, guardsmen, reservists, and veterans of the United States Armed Forces, including the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard are eligible for a non-tuition specific scholarship of up to $5,000 toward one of OHIO's online or professional graduate business degree programs or up to $1,500 toward their first Online Graduate Business Certificate . This scholarship is awarded to all eligible online and professional graduate business students and may be used to help offset additional non-tuition costs associated with pursuing graduate education. How to Receive a Scholarship
Students in the programs mentioned above are eligible for the Corporate Partner Program Scholarship, Alumni Scholarship, or Student Veteran & Military Scholarship, but not all three scholarships. Students with tuition waivers or on scholarship from the University are not eligible for these scholarships. OHIO employees are not eligible for scholarships, but they can use their educational benefits for these programs.
The scholarship is distributed evenly across a student’s semesters in their program. For example, if a student is in a six-semester program, they will receive 1/6 of the scholarship each semester.
Students cannot receive a scholarship more than once. If a student decides to pursue a second College of Business program but they have already received a $5,000 scholarship, they cannot receive another scholarship. In the case of certificates, if a student receives a $1,500 scholarship for a certificate and then decides to pursue a degree program, they can receive up to $3,500 toward the degree program.
Scholarships are awarded automatically. Applicants do not need to fill out any paperwork or forms in order to receive the scholarship. When we review applications, we make note of applicants who meet at least one of the eligibility criteria.
In the case of the Student Veteran and Military Scholarship, students must complete verification with the Veterans Center prior to the end of the second week of the term in order to receive this scholarship. If the deadline is missed, scholarship funds will be pro-rated and applied to the next semester. Please note, students will automatically receive the scholarship after being certified as eligible through the Ohio University Veterans and Military Services Center.
