Dr. Ilana Azulay Chertok, Ph.D.

Dr. Ilana Azulay Chertok is a professor and Associate Director of Nursing Research and Scholarship in the School of Nursing. As an international researcher in maternal-infant health, epidemiologist, nurse, and lactation consultant, the primary focus of her research is examining factors influencing maternal-infant health, women’s health, and lactation. She engages in interdisciplinary research in the United States and in the WHO European Region, with a specific focus on culturally diverse populations.

Richard Hodges, MPA

Richard “Rick” Hodges served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1993-1999 where he served on the Health and Retirement Committee and Chair of the Commerce and Labor Committee. Following his time in the legislature, he worked for hospitals and private industry groups, in Toledo, Tucson and Milwaukee, developing and implementing employee benefit plans, health insurance products, and serving as a management collective bargaining agent.  In 2011 he joined the administration of Gov.

Angela Hillman, Ph.D.

Dr. Angela R Hillman is an associate professor of Exercise Physiology at Ohio University. She obtained her BS in Exercise Science and MS in Physical Education from the University of New Mexico and her PhD in Sports Science from the University of Hull (England).

Janet Simon, Ph.D.

Simon is the associate dean for Research and an associate professor in OHIO's College of Health Sciences and Professions. She is an expert in injury epidemiology, retired athletes and aging. The overarching goal of her research program is on the epidemiology and treatment of musculoskeletal impairments due to injury, aging, and metabolic disease. 

Melissa Anderson, Ph.D.

Dr. Melissa N. Anderson is an assistant professor in the Department of Exercise Physiology at Ohio University, where she also serves as the director of the Concussion Research Group and co-director of the Neuromuscular Biomechanics and Health Assessment Lab. She earned her Ph.D. in Kinesiology with a focus on Biomechanics from the University of Georgia, where her dissertation explored the relationship between concussion history, anxiety, and functional reaction time.

Jessica Arquette, MS, RDN, CSSD, LD

Arquette is a registered and licensed dietitian with a board certification in Sports Dietetics. Arquette teaches Nutrition 1000, Sports Nutrition, Diabetes, and Nutrient Metabolism at Ohio University. In Athletics, she conducts one on ones with athletes, assisting them with performance nutrition needs and medical nutrition therapy in cases of illness or injury. Arquette also provides team talks and team activities such as grocery store tours, dining hall tours, Taste Tuesdays, and cooking/nutrition trivia nights.

Rachel Bican, PT, DPT, Ph.D.

Dr. Rachel Bican, PT, DPT, Ph.D. is the Principal Investigator of the Pediatric FUNctional Mobility (FUN) Lab at Ohio University. She completed her DPT and PhD at Ohio State University and was hired as an Assistant Professor at Ohio University in 2021. Her research focuses on improving motor outcomes for children with disabilities and their families. To do this, her work focuses on optimizing current clinical practices and developing novel rehabilitation delivery models to improve access to care for underserved communities.

Matthew J. Fox, MSN, RN

Matthew Fox is an associate professor Nursing, where he has been a faculty member since 2014. He holds a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Norwich University. Fox is a two-time graduate of Ohio University in 2009 and 2011.  Fox’s research focuses on simulation in nursing education, mindfulness meditation, and innovative instruction techniques.  

James Montgomery, Ph.D.

James Montgomery, Ph.D., is a Professor in Hearing, Speech, and Language Sciences. His area of expertise is language and cognitive sciences with application to childhood language impairment and reading comprehension disabilities. He was a practicing speech-language pathologist for many years in various interdisciplinary clinical settings and focused on the diagnosis and treatment of language impairment in school-age children. 

Wenhan Guo, Ph.D.

Dr. Wenhan Guo is an assistant professor in the Health Services Administration in College of Health Sciences and Professions. He earned his Ph.D. in Health Services Research and Policy from the University of Rochester and holds a Master of Science degree in Biostatistics from Columbia University.
