The purpose of this organization shall be to provide a platform for highly involved and academically excellent undergraduate Sport Management students to prepare and develop professionally for a career in the sports industry.
This organization is affiliated with the Department of Sports Administration within the Ohio University College of Business.

Potential membership in this group shall be open to all who are interested and meet the following criteria: Members must be students in an undergraduate program offered by the Department of Sports Administration. The student must also have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.
Prospective members must also participate in a formal recruitment rush. This will include an interview process in which the final decision for admittance into Sigma Alpha Sigma Mu is left up to the recruitment panel which consists of the current executive board.
SASM recruits new members in the fall and spring semesters and will open applications during those recruitment periods.
