Sarah Welch clerked for the U.S. Supreme Court"I doubt I would have even considered law if I hadn’t done mock trial in high school. I loved thinking about the law, crafting the most persuasive arguments I could, anticipating what my opponents would argue, and presenting my arguments before a judge," said Sarah Welch '16.

Ellen Gill-Franks said 'yes' to getting experience"By being bold enough to allow myself to fail, be rejected, or potentially honored with a new responsibility, I have opened myself up to unexpected growth and immense joy,” said Ellen Gill-Franks '22.
Academics: Choose Your Major
OHIO has seven majors designed especially for students interested in preparing for law school and law-related careers:
- Business Pre-Law
- English-Pre-Law
- Geography Pre-Law
- History Pre-Law
- Political Science Pre-Law
- Philosophy Pre-Law
- Sociology Pre-Law
If you’re interested in environmental law, for example, you could major in Geography Pre-Law. The business and economics majors are popular with students interested in business law.
If the major you’re interested in is not on this list, don’t worry—OHIO’s pre-law experiences are open to students in any major. For example, Sociology and Sociology-Criminology are common majors for those interested in societal issues or criminal justice. And many OHIO students double major or add minors or certificates in areas that interest them.
