Ohio University Chillicothe employs undergraduate student workers in many offices or units on campus. Common examples include the library, student services and facilities. Positions will be posted on the Ohio University Human Resources website .
To be eligible for student hourly employment at Ohio University, a student must:
- Comply with the Immigration Control and Reform Act of 1986 by completing a valid I-9 form within 72 hours of the start date of employment.
- Be enrolled for classes at Ohio University, Hocking College, another post-secondary institution, or a secondary school, during the current semester, immediately previous semester, or immediately upcoming semester (e.g., enrollment spring semester allows work to continue through summer semester). Homeschooled students must supply appropriate documentation.
- Non-Ohio University students must provide verification of student status to the hiring department.
Additional eligibility restrictions apply for Federal Work Study and PACE positions.
Student employees (without graduate appointments, or F or J visas) are permitted to work as follows:
- Fall and spring semesters: 25 hours per week
- Summer semester and all academic breaks: 28 hours per week
Exception: students enrolled in classes during breaks must maintain 25 hours per week
All new hires must complete the electronic I-9 prior to completing new hire paperwork and payroll forms (available in the Dean's Office in Bennett Hall) before starting work. Students that have not completed this form will not be allowed to complete the new hire paper or begin reporting working hours in the department. You can also complete the electronic I-9 . The hiring supervisor will provide employment details.
