Nutrition Science majors may choose between the Pre-Medicine or Pre-Physician Assistant concentration. FNS also offers a sports nutrition certificate, diabetes certificate and a minor in Applied Nutrition. Both an on-campus and online MS in Food and Nutrition Sciences are offered along with the combined MS and Dietetic Internship. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics, the accrediting agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Students who complete the concentration qualify to sit for a national exam to become a nutrition and dietetic technician, registered (NDTR or DTR). Students are prepared to enter a stand-alone ACEND-accredited supervised practice program and master's degree programs to become registered dietitian nutritionists (RDN or RD) or combined Masters and Supervised Practice programs such as the Ohio University combined Master of Science and Dietetic Internship .
