This award recognizes and rewards superior face-to-face teaching, provides models of excellence for fellow faculty and encourages all faculty to continue to improve and advance their teaching pedagogy.
Eligibility
All faculty (all groups and ranks) are eligible. A recipient may not receive the award in consecutive years.

Basic requirements of the application
Please use an 11-point, Arial font. The proposal should not exceed seven (7) pages. Appendices have no page limit.
Page 1: Cover page. Please include the name, the name of the award, and the period
Page 2: If nominated by a chair/director or colleague, please include a brief endorsement written by that individual. A formal letter may be submitted, but is not required.
Pages 3-7: In this section, please make sure that you address the following:
- Describe your teaching approach for your course. In doing so, please comment on the following criteria:
-Student engagement/interaction
-Organization/ease of navigation/technology that works
-Smart use of multi-media, Sense of community
-Student-friendly pacing
-Self-directed assignments (optional)
-Appealing to all learning styles
-Right balance of monitoring of discussion boards
-Instructor visibility and accessibility - Next step: How will the experience of teaching this in-person course inform/improve/change your teaching in the future?
- Briefly describe how you would convey your unique approach to in-person teaching as best practice to another faculty member who is interested in developing a course for the first time or improving their existing course(s).

Review and Award Selection Committee
The CHSP Curriculum Committee will serve as the review and award selection committee. If one of the committee members is a nominee, a substitute committee member will be obtained from that department/school.
The Curriculum Committee will review the award submissions, select the recipient, and advise the CHSP Dean of its selection. If the Curriculum Committee does not reach a consensus, it will forward the names of potential recipients to the Dean, who will make the final decision.
