Annually, the Grover Lecture Series is hosted by Ohio University College of Health Sciences & Professions to address important health and social issues happening in our communities. The Grover Lecture Series is part of an endowed event series established by the Grover family to address health-related topics.

2023 Walter Hall Campus Discussion
Following the 2023 lecture with author Stephanie Land, a panel discussion was held on OHIO's campus to explore poverty and other topics brought up in the memoir. The panel included facilitator Kelly Madewell (Executive Director of My Sister’s Place); Robin Burrow (Elementary Principal in Meigs County, Ohio); Dr. Karen Deardorff (Associate Lecturer and Internship Coordinator in the School of Communication Studies at Ohio University); Leah Schmelzenbach (My Sister’s Place); Jack French (Previously Deputy Director of Hocking, Athens, Perry Community Action Agency and the Director of the Athens County Department of Job and Family Services).
