Dr. Brett Riley Noel returns to The Patton College after a 5-year tenure as the Director of Curriculum & Programs as well as a primary and middle school instructor of English and Social Studies for the Cambridge affiliated Metta School Surabaya. He holds a B.A. in English Literature, an M.Ed. in Special Education, an M.A. in International Affairs, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction from Ohio University. As a Fulbright Scholar, he completed a critical ethnography on conflict resolution education in Indonesia. As a Peace Corps Volunteer, he worked in Tunisia and Malta as an early childhood and early intervention special educator. He has conducted teacher education in Tunisia, Malta, South Korea and Indonesia. His research and educational interests center around international teacher education and the diffusion educational innovations with special focus on social-emotional and inclusive educational strategies.
