Concentration within the BFA Studio Art program
What you'll learn
Our goal is to help you become a diverse and exceptional artist by creating an environment promoting critical dialogues that investigate contemporary art issues as well as the process of creating art. Key to this environment is our dedicated faculty and a strong mentoring program that also provides one-on-one guidance between graduate and undergraduate students.
Through the study of mixed media, traditional and alternative print practices, you’ll be challenged with self-exploration and experimentation in media, such as:
- Lithography
- Screenprinting
- Monoprinting
- Relief
- Intaglio
- Digital printmaking
- Papermaking

Career opportunities
Many of our graduates have successfully interned or work as professional printers in well-known studios such as Cone Editions, Echo Press, Landfall Press, Nexus Press, Tyler Graphics, ULAE, Vermilion Press, and Women's Studio Workshop.
Admission
Students can start out as B.A. or B.F.A. Studio Art majors, or start out in the B.A. Studio Art major and then apply to enter the B.F.A. degree at a later date. There are no requirements beyond University admission requirements to become a Studio Art major.
