Join OHIO Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion Gigi Secuban and Executive Chef Tim Bruce, as they host a cooking demo featuring the University’s iconic HoHo cake. Secuban, an avid home baker, and Bruce will walk through how to bake, assemble, and decorate the famous cake in the Jefferson Marketplace’s Culinary Studio.

History of Student Expression on OHIO's Campus

OHIO students have been expressing themselves and OHIO administrators have been reacting to student expression since the very first Board of Trustees resolutions governing student behavior in 1812. Ohio University Archivist Bill Kimok will use dozens of images of photographs, handbooks, student publications, and other interesting archived materials to present a history of this fascinating dynamic.

College of Arts and Sciences Dean Florenz Plassmann loves to study decision making, as in elections. As in what if there was no Electoral College? It’s not as simple as one might think, he says as he applies several different voting theories to the 2000 presidential election results (Bush/Gore).

Breaking news! The Schey Sales Centre’s news anchors, Dr. Lisa Beeler and Dr. Colin Gabler, bring you this update from the lobby of Copeland Hall. This newscast includes segments from the field with Dr. Andrew Pueschel on College Green leading a session on positivity, mindfulness, and gratitude; Dr. Heather Lawrence-Benedict demonstrating a four-minute workout; and Dr. Adam Rapp at The Ridges with a weather report. College of Business faculty are creating video concepts like this and trying interactive practices to keep students engaged in their classes.

University College: Connecting Students and Launching Bobcat Journeys
Ohio University students and alumni remember forever the first time they set foot on campus. They remember the friends they made at orientation and the foundation they built that would support them in their time at OHIO. This year, a global pandemic meant students participated online in orientation and connected virtually with new friends in their first-year seminars. University College rose to the challenge of virtually welcoming a new class of Bobcats and launching them on their Bobcat path. We engaged students in reflection and storytelling through unique and creative projects.
Voinovich School of Leadership & Public Affairs: Expanding Broadband Access in Southeast Ohio
Lack of high-speed internet has long been a barrier to economic development in Southeast Ohio, becoming even more apparent with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic as families struggled to work and learn from home. Learn how Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs is supporting and working with the Southeast Ohio Community Leaders Group to expand broadband access using Ohio CARES Act funding, along with generating additional future investment in this area.
