D uring this time of slowed hiring, many departments have shifted their focus to matters other than recruitment and selection. However, departments can take this time to ensure, without the rush of a pending search, that faculty and staff are trained in preparation for any searches that may be on the horizon in the coming year or two.
OHIO Search Committee Training is broken into three sections: Preparing for the Search– a self-paced eLearn that focuses on the early stages of the search process, Candidate Evaluation and Selection– a real-time session held via Microsoft Teams that addresses the later stages of the search, and the Diversity Advocate Workshop– an interactive skills development session held via Microsoft Teams to prepare participants to engage with colleagues regarding difficult conversations or microaggressions that may happen throughout the search process.
Typically, the Candidate Evaluation and Selection Workshop and the Diversity Advocate Workshop are offered once per month. However, there is a unique opportunity for departments this month and next, as each session will be offered several times in the coming weeks:
