With the holidays approaching there will be increasing opportunities for travel and visiting loved ones. With that comes an increased risk of spreading COVID-19.
Many children are not yet vaccinated against COVID-19, and some individuals are at high risk for complications from the virus. Students, faculty, and staff, vaccinated or not, are encouraged to take asymptomatic COVID-19 tests before and after Thanksgiving travel.
- On the Athens campus, schedule appointments at campus clinics through CVS or Vault Health. The CVS test is a rapid nasal swab test. Appointments can be scheduled up to a week in advance and availability is limited. The Vault Health option is a saliva test with results in 48-72 hours and appointments are available to schedule weeks in advance. Keep these options in mind as you plan your travel and visits.
- On regional campuses, students, faculty, and staff can pick up take-home Vault Health tests at any campus to use before and after Thanksgiving travel. This is a saliva test and results are available in 48-72 hours.
Testing gives you peace of mind knowing you’re not bringing a risk to your friends and family, no matter their health or vaccination status.
