Two members of the Ohio University wrestling coaching staff have returned to their positions following the closure of an Ohio University (OUPD) investigation that ended with no criminal charges filed.
The coaching staff for OHIO wrestling was put on administration leave in March when OUPD opened a criminal investigation after receiving third-party reports that two Ohio University wrestlers were injured during a practice on March 12. After closing their investigation, OUPD shared a copy of their report with Ohio University Athletics. Separate from the police investigation, Ohio University’s Office of Human Resources conducted an administrative review at the request of the University’s legal counsel. Athletics leadership is considering both the police report and the administrative review as part of its own departmental review.
At this time, one coach remains on leave, pending completion of the Athletics review.
