The Ohio University Executive Staff Policy Committee approved the creation of new policies and updates to several other OHIO policies over the summer.
The policies cover a wide range of topics, including:
- Vacation leave
- Privacy protection
- Export compliance
- Production and hosting major events
- Management of student exchanges
- Student address and location.
Vacation Leave Donation
Policy 40.035: Vacation Leave Donation was updated at the June 21, 2024, meeting of the Executive Staff Policy Committee (ESPC). You can read more about the update in this OHIO Today article.
Privacy Protection Policy
Policy 92.001: Privacy Protection is a new policy created to safeguard personal information and to ensure responsible data use. The policy demonstrates the University’s commitment to responsible privacy practices and enhanced compliance, while it also provides needed guidance on protecting the rights and interests of individuals’ personal information. The ESPC approved the policy at its meeting on June 21, 2024. You can read the policy here.
Export Compliance Policy
Policy 19.060: Export Compliance is a new policy that focuses on international research activities. The formal policy ensures responsible research conduct with facilitating international collaborations. The policy was approved by the ESPC on an interim basis at an April 2024 meeting and then fully approved at the June 21, 2024, meeting. You can read the policy here.
Production and Hosting Major Events
Policy 01.030: Production and Hosting Major Events was updated at the request of the Major Events Committee. The policy was reviewed at the April 2024 ESPC meeting and then the updates were formally approved at the June 21, 2024, meeting. You can read the policy here.
Management of Student Exchanges
Policy 20.090: Management of Student Exchangeswas rescinded at the July 19, 2024, ESPC meeting. The earlier policy contained outdated processes.
Student Address and Location Policy
Policy 12.022: Student Address and Location was updated and placed into the interim status at the Aug. 16, 2024, ESPC meeting. You can read the policy here.
