Faculty development at Ohio University is intended to support our exceptional faculty in their roles as engaged teachers, scholars, researchers, creative artists and service providers throughout their academic career. The following programs and opportunities are intended to support academic leadership development for OHIO faculty.
OHIO Emerging Leader Academy
The OHIO Emerging Leader Academy is a two-semester faculty development program with the goal of providing future academic leaders with the skills and knowledge to become effective academic leaders. The academy is for full-time OHIO faculty with strong leadership potential, a record of achievement in their current and past positions and an expressed interest in administrative leadership.
MAC Academic Leadership Development Program
Ohio University has joined with other colleges and universities in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) to participate in the Academic Leadership Development Program (ALDP). The mission of this program is to identify, develop, prepare and advance faculty as academic leaders in MAC universities.
The program provides an opportunity for up to four Ohio University faculty annually to gain valuable knowledge and experience in academic leadership by working closely with select administrators from other colleges and universities in the MAC.

Provost Faculty Fellows Program
The Provost's Faculty Fellows Program offers a unique faculty leadership development experience. Working with the Provost's Office, selected Fellows will each have the opportunity to coordinate a University-wide project and engage with administrative and faculty leaders across the University. Projects provide the Provost's Faculty Fellows with mentoring and insight into higher education administration, as well as help advance institutional goals and strategies.
