Janet Russell is Ohio University’s School Certifying Official for the Brigadier General James M. Abraham & Colonel Arlene F. Greenfield Veterans and Military Student Services Center. She was a West Virginia Army National Guard Spouse for 31 years. She has 20 plus years in the medical profession. She came to Ohio University in a temporary/full time position with The College of Health Science and Professions Student Services in 2012. In July, 2013 she accepted the position of Records Management Assistant in the Office of the University Registrar. In July, 2014 she accepted the position she now currently holds as Records Management Specialist as the School Certifying Official for the Veterans and Military Student Services Center. Her primary duties include certifying enrollment of all Veteran and military dependent students using VA educational benefits, ensuring Veteran and dependent students using VA education benefits take classes that meet a degree requirement, and Supervisor of the Veterans Center Student Work Study Program. Her personal interests include spending time with family and her grandson Aden, as well as walking and reading.
