Lesli Johnson
Dr. Lesli Johnson lead the PEER Team (Planning, Evaluation, Education and Research) at Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service since 1997 and served as faculty in the MPA program since 2007. After her recent retirement, she has returned to work with the PEER Team as a Senior Executive in Residence. Before joining the Voinovich School in 1997, Dr. Johnson worked in community mental health. She holds a Masters in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma and Ph.D. in Psychology. Dr. Johnson has extensive experience in evaluation, facilitation, strategic planning and applied research in the areas of education and health. She has worked on a number of state-wide initiatives including the Ohio HIV Needs Assessment, Ohio State Health Assessment and an evaluation that examines the effectiveness of Ohio’s response to the COVID Epidemic.
She has 26 years of experience working in community programs, including mental health, health, education and child welfare. Dr. Johnson enjoys working on interdisciplinary teams both as a researcher and as a project leader.
