In the annals of unusual wildlife activity at JFK Intl. Airport, the first nesting was reported on Saturday May 7th at about 10:00pm.  A large number of terrapins (50-100?) appeared from about 10:00pm-11:45pm, our first record of nighttime nesting.  Unfortunately, the staff on duty didn't get an accurate accounting of how many they released on site without tagging (the midnight shift normally don't process the terrapins).  We had over 100 terrapins again the following morning during high tide.
