An increasing percentage of the workforce now identifies as a caregiver. A person can be a caregiver to an aging parent, a child, a neighbor or a pet. Regardless of who you're offering care to, the role can come with great responsibility and added stress. As a caregiver, you spend so much time looking after others—summer is the perfect time to do something for yourself. Whether it’s taking a quiet walk, soaking in the sunshine or simply pausing for a deep breath, these moments of self-care are essential, not optional.
- This season, take small steps that add up: hydrate more, move daily, rest often and explore the resources available to you. When you care for yourself, you’re better equipped to care for others.
- Ohio University’s Healthy OHIO Risk Reduction Program is here to support you in putting your health first. From personalized nutrition and fitness guidance to stress management tools and chronic disease prevention, the program helps you feel your best—physically and mentally. While the upcoming cohort is filled, you can take care of future you by adding yourself to the waiting list now.
