ECON 2020 - Gender in the Economy
Gender in the Economy is an introductory course. It takes an interdisciplinary approach to examine ways in which gender, as a culturally defined concept, affects the economy.

Learning Outcomes:
- Students will be able to discuss how gender as a social category (like race, ethnicity, and class) is relevant to the study of the economy
- Students will be able to analyze some of the ways in which the economy is gendered in order to gain awareness of the relative freedoms of the individual in the economy
- Students will be able to examine gender in a global economic context and the role of citizens in the pursuit of gender equality
- Students will be able to evaluate alternative approaches to economics
- Students will be able to analyze current events related to gender in order to practice constructive participation in society as a citizen and as an economic agent
