RFM 4800 - Strategic Retail Policy
This capstone course serves as an intensive personal and professional assessment tool for prospective leaders in the retail merchandising and fashion product development industry. Students apply knowledge and skills forged in the Retail Merchandising and Fashion Product Development program in policy analysis, with the perspective of ethical decision making emphasized.
Requisites: RFM 2910, RFM major, and Senior

Learning Outcomes:
- Students will be able to develop broad perspectives on careers and professional growth in the retail merchandising and fashion product development industry, with emphasis on policy making and ethical leadership.
- Students will be able to consider ethical and social issues pertinent to the development of products and services.
- Students will be able to identify characteristics of an effective team member and how to work productively with people, to accomplish goals.
- Students will be able to explore and analyze factors that influence policies related to planning, development, and presentation of products and services directed toward consumers.
- Students will be able to articulate the concept of fair labor.
- Students will be able to differentiate between the viewpoints of consumers, retailers, product developers, and manufacturers as they contribute to policy making.
- Students will be able to develop organizational and communication skills needed to serve as empowered leaders in the global fashion industry.
