Program Overview
The certificate will provide a framework for studies which integrate a broad knowledge of technological opportunities with the needs and desires of society. Students who earn this certificate will acquire specific technical and analytical skills which will allow them to critically analyze the interdependence between technologies and societies and broaden their career possibilities.
Admissions Information
Freshman/First-Year Admission
Criteria for admission to the program is that a student is an undergraduate student in good standing. Students may be from any college or any major.
Change of Program Policy
Students should register for the certificate with the College of Arts and Sciences. Students should also schedule an appointment with the Department of Economics, which will administer the program.
External Transfer Admission
No requirements beyond University admission requirements.
Opportunities Upon Graduation
Students earning the certificate will be prepared for any career opportunity open to a liberal arts students. In addition, students will have acquired specific analytical skills which will allow them to critically analyze the interdependence between technologies and society, which will broaden career opportunities.

Certificate Hours Requirement
The Technology and Society Certificate program requires a minimum of 15 hours.
