Program Overview
The aviation flight program is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved FAR 141 program that meets the federal regulations for pilot training schools. Specifically, the flight program educates and prepares students for a variety of pilot-related positions, including professional flight instructor, commercial pilot, airline pilot, and corporate pilot positions. Flight training is completed in university-owned aircraft.
Admissions Information
Freshman/First-Year Admission
Per FAA regulation, students must speak, read, write and understand English as determined by the Ohio University Department of Aviation.
Change of Program Policy
Per FAA regulation, students must speak, read, write and understand English as determined by the Ohio University Department of Aviation. Students must have at least a C (2.0) GPA.
External Transfer Admission
Per FAA regulation, students must speak, read, write and understand English as determined by the Ohio University Department of Aviation.
AVN 3400, AVN 4000, AVN 4050, AVN 4200, AVN 4300, AVN 4450 and AVN 4550 must be completed at Ohio University. These courses cannot be transferred to Ohio University.
