Students may encounter an error when uploading documents in their HCOM Student Portals stating that their file has exceeded 4MB. This article explains how to reduce the file size using Adobe Acrobat or submit an HCOM Tech Ticket requesting assistance with uploading the document to the HCOM Student Portal.

How to Reduce PDF File Size using Adobe Acrobat

If you have access to Adobe Acrobat, please follow the steps below to reduce the size of your file.

  1. Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat
  2. From the Menu Bar, select "Save as Other", then "Reduced Size PDF". 

        3. Save the new file in a folder of your choosing. 

        4. Upload to the HCOM Student Portal. 

How to Submit an HCOM Tech Ticket to Have the Document Uploaded

Please upload your file to OneDrive, share the file with Noelle Gaston at gastonn@ohio.edu , then submit a ticket to HCOMTech@ohio.edu requesting assistance uploading a reduced file to your student portal.
