Overview
The HCOM Faculty Portal is used by faculty members to update their contact and professional information, as well as, view their current workload distribution, and submit teaching activity forms.
Accessing the Faculty Portal and Logging In
The Faculty Portal can be accessed using the following link: https://ouhcom.my.site.com/faculty
. You will use your OHIO email and password to login.
Upon logging in, you'll land on a homepage like the one pictured below. From here you can select any of the tabs across the top of the page to update your information, submit teaching activity forms, or view your current workload distributions.
Update My Info
On this page, you'll be able to update one or all of the categories listed below.
- Contact Information
- Awards
- Discipline Information
- AACOM Demographics
- OHIO Centers and Institute Affiliations
Simply check the box next to what category you'd like to update and fill out the information that appears on the page. Should look something like the below.
You can add multiple awards, honors, or nominations by clicking the " Add Another" button. Please note that fields marked with a red bar are required before submitting.
When finished, click " Submit".
Teaching Activity Forms
Teaching activity forms are submitted to Department Chairs for HCOM Faculty to receive additional credit hours for activities that may occur outside of their typically scheduled coursework. Faculty members will receive an email notifying them if their Department Chair has approved or denied the request.
When you select the "My Teaching Activity Forms" tab, you'll land on a list of all previously submitted activities for the current academic year. If you'd like to submit a new one, please select the " Create New Teaching Activity Record" button.
The following form will appear:
Fill it out to the best of your ability and click "Submit". Submitting the form will automatically notify your department chair.
Current AY Workload Distributions
This page lets you view all of your workload calculations for the current academic year at any time. At the very bottom of the page, you'll be able to view your teaching assignments for the academic year that are imported directly from eMedley at the beginning and end of each semester. These records are what calculate your workload.
Note: Curriculum leadership credit is loaded at the beginning and end of each semester, separate from the eMedley teaching assignments.
Report a Professionalism Issue
To report a professionalism violation from a student, staff, faculty or Preceptor, click on 'Report a Professionalism Issue'.
- Enter the name of the person who violated a standard
- Their campus location
- Select if it is a student, staff, faculty, or Preceptor
- The rest of the form will render questions accordingly with the above selection for you to complete
