Resolving Connection Issues with University Resources on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge

Browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge have recently implemented new security protocols to enhance online security. However, this change has caused users of these browsers to experience difficulties accessing university resources such as TDX, EBIZ, Jira, and OBI. This is not a fault with the browsers themselves but rather with some servers not being updated to support the latest security measures.

Environment

Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge 

Solution 

  1. Open Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
  2. Depending on your browser, enter either chrome://flags or edge://flags into the address bar and press Enter.

  4. In the search bar at the top, type " TLS".

  6. Locate the option for TLS 1.3 hybridized Kyber support and set it to Disabled.
  7. Finally, select Relaunch at the bottom corner of the screen to restart your browser.

Outcome:You should now be able to access the affected resources on Chrome and Edge browsers.
