Hey Bros, I received this from the Student Involvement office today. I participated in this simulation last year, and it is a GREAT, eye-opening experience. I encourage everyone to do it if it fits into your schedule. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Addington, Ann < addingto at ohio.edu > Date: Wed, Oct 20, 2010 at 9:06 AM Subject: SOEIT1_CIC: Poverty Simulation To: Please respond to Pamela Pate at patep at ohio.edu if you have any questions about the Poverty Simulation. Hello All, It’s that time again! The Ohio Association of Second Harvest Food Banks is coming back to campus to hold another POVERTY SIMULTAION Exercise in Baker Center. POVERTY SIMULATION MONDAY, November 8th Baker Center Ballroom “A” 6:00 – 9:00p.m. We are very excited to bring this large “real-life” exercise in poverty to Ohio University students. The event allows for 70 active participants and 20 volunteers playing “community” roles. We are starting the media campaign this week and would like you to consider playing a role and spreading the word to your, classes and constituents…. Last year we had two entire classes attend and they received class and community service credit. Please be on the lookout for posters, press releases and news articles. Many people wished they could have participated and we would like to fill up the room this year. Please contact me if you would like to come and play a role or if you are having your class attend the event. It’s a first come first serve event.
