Subject: Doc students, grads, and faculty - research on postmasters experience

If you are a faculty member in, graduate student in, or recent graduate of a Counselor Education program, please participate in a research study being conducted on “Post-masters counseling experience prior to doctoral enrollment”. Previous emails have been sent for each survey separately. If you have completed one, thank you for your time. This is the last reminder to be sent through this venue asking for participation.

Three separate surveys are being conducted for three separate populations: new faculty (three years or less), all faculty (any number of years of experience), and current doctoral students and recent graduates (within three years). All surveys are anonymous, voluntary, and you may stop at any time during the process. The surveys vary from 11-14 questions and each one takes between 10 – 20 minutes to complete. No identifiable risks or benefits exist by completing the survey, other than the benefit of clarifying current professional practices, which will benefit future Counselor Education students. No promise or guarantee of benefits has been made to encourage you to participate.

This study is partially supported by a SACES research grant, and is being conducted by Nadine Hartig, Assistant Professor, Radford University; Nancy Bodenhorn, Associate Professor, Virginia Tech; and Laura Farmer, Jasmine Graham, Michelle Ghoston, Jesse Lile, and Corrine Sackett, Doctoral students at Virginia Tech. These researchers are the only individuals who will have access to the data. Data will be kept electronically on password protected computers for three years, then deleted from the computer files. Please direct any questions regarding the study to Nancy Bodenhorn at nanboden at vt.edu
, or if the questions are in regard to research compliance, to David Moore, Chair of VT IRB at moored at vt.edu.
The IRB at Virginia Tech has approved this research study.

If you will volunteer to complete the survey, please go to the appropriate website below according to your status. If you fit multiple populations and are willing to complete each appropriate survey, please do so – the questions differ for each population. Entering the survey website indicates that you have read the documented description, agree to the terms, and give voluntary consent to participate.
