Please consider applying for this scholarship. Bill Showman, OU-C master's student received this award when he went to the conference for the first time 2 years ago. It is a great opportunity to lobby congress on behalf of persons with disabilities. ----- Forwarded message from lrmcconn805 at comcast.net ----- From: lrmcconn805 at comcast.net Reply-To: NAMRC_board at yahoogroups.com To: namrc_board at yahoogroups.com Subject: [NAMRC_board] Fwd: From the desk of Beverlee Stafford, Executive Director NRA: Tom Stewart Memorial Fund and Application for Scholarship [2 Attachments] Date: Wed, 6 Jan 2010 22:18:25 +0000 (UTC) Note, some funds are available to support some "first timers" attending the NRA Gov Affairs conference. Stewart Memorial Scholarship Fund.  The Fund was established in his memory but also to honor Tom's strong belief in the important role that advocates play in forming public policy.  The purpose of the Fund is to provide support for the participation of first-time attendees to the NRA Governmental Affairs Conference.   Interested individuals can apply for use of the scholarship fund to pay for all or part of the expense of attending the 2010 NRA Governmental Affairs Conference that will be held March 14-16, 2010 in Alexandria, Virginia.  The NRA Treasurer, Robert Cox, and the NRA Executive Director will review all applications and will make recommendations to the NRA Executive Committee as to the number and amount of awards to be presented.  I have attached two forms to this email.  First, I have attached a Donation form if you are interested in making a contribution to the Tom Stewart Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Next, I have attached the application for a scholarship from the Fund.  Please note that applicants for such a scholarship must meet the following critieria:  (1)   Applicant must be a member in good standing of the National Rehabilitation Association; and (2)   Applicant must be attending the NRA's Governmental Affairs Conference for the first time.  Applications should be received at the NRA national office by January 15, 2010 - although, that date may be extended.  Please consider making a contribution so that we can fund several individuals to attend the conference.  Also, please encourage your colleagues who have not attended the Conference in the past to consider applying for the scholarship funds.  Thanks.    Beverlee Stafford Executive Director National Rehabilitation Association 633 S.
