Subject: (GIRC H.E.) Job Opening: Adjunct Faculty - Spring Conflict Management Skills Class East Campus, Cuyahoga Community College
Importance: High

Hello All:

Cuyahoga Community College's Eastern Campus needs to recruit a faculty member - part time/adjunct - to teach the conflict management skills class at the Eastern Campus this Spring. We need to hire them ASAP as they begin in January and we need to review the outline with them, etc. We need to recruit someone who not only knows and models the skills, but has experience applying them in settings. We also want someone who knows how to TEACH the skills to others. We want heavy skills as we have a separate theory course. The course outline that was approved will be made available to the person teaching the course as well as sample syllabi which reflect the approved course outline. Support will be provided by Global Issues Resource Center to those who will teach the course here at East.

Please share this with others. We will begin reviewing all applicants on December 6th until we have found someone that fits.

We can not take email applications. All applicants must apply on-line at: https://careers.tri-c.edu/applicants/jsp/shared/frameset/Frameset.jsp?time=1291137345721
A copy of the adjunct faculty listing is below. The course is currently scheduled at East for Spring on: Tuesdays/Thursdays from 1PM - 2:25PM beginning this Spring.

Questions? You can reach Jennifer Batton, Director, Global Issues Resource Center, Cuyahoga Community College, at 216-987-2231 or email me at: Jennifer.Batton at tri-c.edu

IMPORTANT: Whoever we hire, we would want to work collaboratively with the other faculty on the 3 campuses as the courses build on each other in the Certificate in Conflict Management and Peace Studies. This course also is where we are recruiting students for our mediation program for students to begin this spring and the college-wide Sustained Campus Dialogue Network which begins on all 3 main campuses this Spring. The skills class is critical as the service learning capstone for the certificate requires students to have taken and be able to utilize the skills. In addition, we are recruiting our students for our peace and conflict study abroad programs in Costa Rica from this course.
