We have had many students within your college take these writing courses and we always appreciate the diverse viewpoints and many strengths they offer to our classes. The Thesis/Dissertation Writing class is especially popular. It covers how to organize sources for the literature for a thesis/dissertation, how to write up main ideas and supporting ideas, how to cite following their disciplines citation guide, how to avoid plagiarism, and how to proofread/correct grammatical errors. The courses are 3 credit hours and are for credit only so they don't affect GPA as long as a passing grade is attained. They count for graduate credit as well. ELIP 516-Thesis/Dissertation Writing, 3 credit hours Thurs 5:10-7:00pm & individual conferences (Call # 03199), Ellis 108 ELIP 514-Advanced Graduate Writing, 3 credit hours TTh 12:10-1:30pm (Call # 03198), Clippinger 133 Includes summaries, literature reviews, & critiques; citation of sources & plagiarism; and sentence structure, vocabulary & critical reading. More information for all courses can be found at: http://www.ohio.edu/linguistics/elip/ Feel free to forward this on to anyone who might be interested.
