The primary responsibility is to provide drop-in, individual, and group career counseling sessions that focus on a wide variety of career development topics including career decision making, job/internship search strategies, and applying to graduate school. The Counselor is expected to utilize a broad range of formal and informal assessment strategies, develop and provide outreach programming, and provide appropriate referral services for students requiring extended psychological services. In addition to providing counseling and outreach, the counselor will assist in the delivery of unit-wide programs, collaborate with academic staff/faculty, serve as liaison to an academic college, and on a rotating basis teach undergraduate career development classes and co-coordinate the mock interview program. Requires Master's degree in Counselor Education, Counseling Psychology, Student Personnel/Student Affairs or equivalent, plus one year of work-related experience. Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) certification or LPC eligible in the State of Pennsylvania is strongly preferred. The Counselor must be skilled at psychosocial assessment and interpersonal counseling, demonstrate multicultural competence, and be grounded in both career and personal development theory. The Counselor must possess a strong work ethic and be a dedicated team player.
