There is an expectation that the successful candidate will teach on an overload basis during the summer term. Anticipated start is fall term 2012. Rank will be negotiable at the Assistant or Associate Professor level based upon experience and credentials. The Mental Health Program Coordinator - Counselor Education and School Psychology is responsible for providing dynamic, effective, and caring leadership to the CACREP-accredited mental health counseling program. Responsibilities include coordinating and promoting the vision of the mental health counseling program; demonstrating excellent teaching; advising graduate students; and engaging in scholarship and service activities internal and external to the campus. The Counselor Education Program seeks to prepare professional counselors who are engaged in the ongoing processes of increased self-awareness and enhanced interpersonal effectiveness. A commitment to social justice is promoted through an emphasis on honoring and recognizing the diversity that exists within clients and society and through the development of skills necessary to implement interventions aimed at transforming individuals and institutions. The Department of Counselor Education and School Psychology offers Master's, Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study, and professional certification programs with concentrations in school counseling, mental health counseling, and school psychology. The Department also offers certificate programs in organizational and personal wellness, play therapy, and parenting education.
