[ http://gallery.mailchimp.com/653153ae841fd11de66ad181a/images/placeholder_600.gif] Job Announcement- Langston University Good Afternoon, The Department of Rehabilitation Counseling and Disability Studies (DRCDS) seeks a new Assistant Professor in the Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling (MRC) Program at Langston University/Tulsa to accommodate program growth. Duties for this twelve-month, non-tenure track position will include teaching graduate courses in rehabilitation counseling and undergraduate courses in rehabilitation services, including practicum and/or internship courses, academic advisement of students, research and community service. Required qualifications include a doctorate in rehabilitation education or a closely related field, graduate level teaching experience, potential to develop a scholarly line of research/publications, potential for successful grant writing, and experience in delivery of vocational rehabilitation services. The successful applicant will be a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and a Licensed Professional Counselor or LPC eligible in the state of Oklahoma. The review process will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. The Applications will be accepted until November 1, 2011. The starting date is January 8, 2012. Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications. Program Description The Graduate Program in Rehabilitation Counseling is housed within the Langston University School of Education and Behavioral Sciences. This Program is designed to meet the growing demand for qualified, professionally trained rehabilitation counselors who want to work in public and private rehabilitation agencies and institutions. The Program offers a licensed professional counselor (LPC) specialty track option. DRCDS operates a total of five (5) Federal U.S. Department of Education- Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) grants. The Department is comprised of ten faculty members who hold the certified rehabilitation counselor (CRC) credential and houses the prestigious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.’s Distinguished Professor Endowed Chair. Faculty members’ expertise and research interests span the field of rehabilitation, counseling and disability. Langston University Langston University, founded in 1897 as a historically Black co-educational institution, is the only institution in the State of Oklahoma with both land grant and urban missions. The Graduate Program in Rehabilitation Counseling is housed on Langston’s Oklahoma City Campus. The Program has expanded its rehabilitation counseling course offerings to Langston’s Tulsa campus.
