Subject: Appeal from the Vocational Evaluation and Work Adjustment Association

Dear NCRE Community,

As an organization dedicated to advancing effective vocational evaluation and
work adjustment approaches, the Vocational Evaluation and Work Adjustment
Association (VEWAA) represents an important partner organization with NCRE.
I encourage you to read and respond to the message below from Dr. Chad
Betters, VEWAA's 2011 President. Dr. Betters' goals of furthering community
and student/practitioner involvement in professional organizations are
consistent with the principles of NCRE and will serve to further strengthen our
overall profession.

Best wishes,
Charles (Chuck) Edmund Degeneffe
San Diego State University

The Vocational Evaluation and Work Adjustment Association (VEWAA) is calling
out to all interested faculty members and students interested in vocational
evaluation and work adjustment practices in an effort to facilitate state
chapter development, as well as provide rehabilitation counseling and
vocational evaluation students an opportunity to participate within the
professional organization.

The VEWAA is committed to the enhancement of vocational evaluation and
work adjustment service delivery, and believes that this can maximized by
concerted effort at the state level. Although there are VEWAA state chapters,
there is a need for establishing communities within our profession, especially
for those regions in the country where The VEWAA is also dedicated to the
advancement of the vocational evaluator identity, and specifically would like
to invite students who desire to become involved with a professional
organization, at the state or national level, to participate with our ongoing
activities. This is an ideal time to become a contributor to the profession, and
we welcome the viewpoints and voices of our future evaluators and
rehabilitation professionals.

As the VEWAA’s President for 2011, I encourage all interested parties to
contact me in order to discuss state chapter development, as well as student
engagement. Please feel free to call me at (336) 750-2941 or email me at bettersch at wssu.edu.
We look forward to working with you toward our
common goal of promoting excellence in the practices of vocational evaluation
and work adjustment.
