Assistant Professor, Counselor Education and Clinical Director

The Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Webster University invite applications for a tenure-track appointment at the level of Assistant Professor with administrative responsibilities for the clinical aspects of the Counselor Education program. We are seeking a counselor educator who will also fill the role of administrator of the clinical curriculum taught worldwide. This is a nine (9) month academic position with a teaching load of six graduate courses per year (3 courses per semester with opportunities for course load reductions) as well as advising and clinical supervision responsibilities. The administrative duties of this position involve a 12 month administrative position with a separate stipend responsible for collaborating with the Worldwide Director on trouble shooting, curriculum revision, and training of faculty at extended campuses. Opportunities for faculty research exist. Faculty members are expected to participate in department, college and university governance activities, and other university events. Applicants must have evidence of potential for teaching and supervision excellence and interpersonal skills that lend to direction of a multi-site program.

Qualifications:  Earned doctorate in counselor education and supervision or counseling preferred. Professional credential as LPC. Professional identity as professional counselor educator, supervisor, and clinician. Experience in clinical counseling professional practice and in university-level teaching.  Preferred experience with CACREP and ability to accurately interpret standards and apply to curriculum.

Essential Function: Establishes and maintains a high academic quality clinical experience that adheres to professional ethical codes (ACA Code of Ethics, 2005; ACES Code of Ethics, 1998) and aligns with professional standards (CACREP); and ensures that related protocol is followed and adhered to at extended campuses in order to maintain consistency of experience within the Counseling degree program. Is responsible for the quality of the clinical experience including cohesiveness and comprehensiveness of the clinical experiences of our counseling degree students throughout the program. Personally adheres to professional ethical codes (ACA, 2005; ACES, 1999).  Teach 3/3 load with course reduction.  Interest in social justice and advocacy.
