Not only do these pressures impact the quality of the care we deliver as heath care professionals, they can also affect our own quality of life. Gestalt Theory with its emphasis on experiential learning and on the "here and now" is particularly suited to support us as health care professionals to reintegrate the full range of who we are physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, and to reconnect with what first "called" us to service in the field of health care delivery. Continuing Education Hours: 12 Fees $195 Faculty Kirste Carlson, DNP, PMHCNS-BC Kathy Clegg, MD Relational Field and Development - Shame in the Therapeutic Dialogue March 3-5, 2011 Thursday 6:00pm-9:00pm; Friday 9:00am-6:00pm; Saturday 9:00am-6:00pm Description This workshop will explore the role of Gestalt therapy models of development in psychotherapy with adults, and how developmental models are relevant to Gestalt's phenomenological framework. The focus will include how our experience is constituted by the relational field both developmentally and in the therapy relationship. We will gain an understanding of shame as intersubjectively generated, maintained and potentially mitigated in therapy. We will contextualize shame, understand it as a relational phenomenon, and increase our sensitivity to its presence. The conditions for the development of dignity will be explored. Format The workshop will include lecture, discussion, experiential exercises, and practice labs. Continuing Education: 16.5 hours of instruction Fees Tuition: $360 (Full time students $100.00 - call to register) Faculty Daniel Jones, PhD Marlene Moss Blumenthal, PhD Mark McConville, PhD -- Please remember email is not a secure means of communication.
