Position: Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Education- Tenure Track Position
Degree Requirements: Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited institution preferred.
Experience Requirements: The candidate must be currently licensed or seeking licensure in Texas. Must demonstrate ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with faculty in a CACREP accredited Master's program; advise graduate students; serve on committees; participate in professional organizations. A successful candidate will demonstrate potential for: research and publications, excellence in teaching, and service at the department, college, and university levels. Candidates need to provide evidence of effective interpersonal skills, as well as knowledge and application of skills as a counselor educator. Proficiency with technology is preferred with experience with on-line teaching desirable.
Environment: Sam Houston State is located in historic Huntsville, one quarter of the way from Houston to Dallas, at the boundary between Piney Woods region of East Texas and the Prairies and Lakes region of Central Texas. The university has an enrollment of approximately 16,400 and a faculty of 650.
Usual Duties: Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: (1) teaching graduate level courses in counselor education, (2) advising and supervising graduate level students in the program, (3) advising students in research, theses, and dissertations, (4) participating in professional, program, department, college and university committees.  Further, the person will make efforts to recruit new students into the counselor education programs from school districts, community agencies, and at professional conferences. Candidates must be willing to teach at off campus locations.

Interest packets must include the following: a letter of interest addressing experience requirements, duties and teaching philosophy, current vitae, three letters of reference with permission to contact references, and copies of all transcripts (originals will be required if hired). Salary:  $50,000 - $55,000 (9 months)
