Subject: (GIRC H.E.) Job Opening (Cleveland, Ohio) Adjunct Faculty - Conflict Managment Theory

Hello All:

Cuyahoga Community College's Western Campus (Parma, Ohio) need to recruit a faculty member - part time/adjunct - to teach the conflict management theory class at the Western Campuses this Fall. We need to hire them ASAP as they begin in September. We want someone who knows the theories and, ideally, understands adult learning styles. The course outline that was approved will be made available to the person teaching the course as well as sample syllabi which reflect the approved course outline. Support will be provided by Global Issues Resource Center to those who will teach the courses at all campuses as the Certificate Program in Conflict Management and Peace Studies is coordinated from this office.

We will begin reviewing all applicants on August 8th until we find a well qualified applicant.

We can not take email applications. All applicants must apply on-line at: https://careers.tri-c.edu/applicants/jsp/shared/frameset/Frameset.jsp?time=1311598120259
A copy of the adjunct faculty listing is below. The course is currently scheduled at West for Fall on: Mondays/Wednesdays at 1:30 - 3:00pm.

Questions? Please contact Elizabeth Wuerz, Coordinator, Global Issues Resource Center, Cuyahoga Community College, at 216-987-2582 or email at: Elizabeth.Wuerz at tri-c.edu

IMPORTANT: Whoever we hire, we would want to work collaboratively with the other faculty on the 3 campuses as the courses build on each other in the Certificate in Conflict Management and Peace Studies. This course also is where we are recruiting students for our mediation program for students (beginning this Spring) and the college-wide Sustained Campus Dialogue Network which begins on all 3 main campuses this Spring. The skills class is critical as the service learning capstone for the certificate requires students to have taken this course and to be able to utilize the skills. In addition, we are recruiting our students for our peace and conflict study abroad programs in Costa Rica from this course.

Thank you for passing along to well qualified potential adjunct faculty!

Sincerely,
Jen and Elizabeth
