Position: The Department of Rehabilitation and Counselor Education seeks an accomplished scholar and teacher for an academic year tenure-track faculty position as program coordinator of a new marriage and family therapy (MFT) doctoral program. Candidates should be at the advanced assistant or associate professor level. The position begins August, 2011. The program has strong faculty, university, and clinical community support.

Required Qualifications: (1) earned doctorate in marriage and family therapy or closely related field; (2) evidence of scholarly productivity, including publications in recognized marriage and family therapy or related journals; (3) successful record of teaching graduate courses and supervising practicum/internship experiences; (4) experience in marriage and family therapy; (5) experience or strong interest in MFT program administration; (6) experience in attracting external funds; (7) demonstrated commitment to working with diverse populations; and (8) eligibility for Iowa Marriage and Family Therapy licensure.

Desirable qualifications: (1) professional experience in MFT graduate program administration; (2) graduation from and/or experience teaching in a COAMFTE graduate program; and (3) experience as a COAMFTE site visitor.

Responsibilities: Duties will include (1) coordinating the MFT doctoral program; (2) teaching courses in MFT and related areas consistent with the candidate's interests and Department needs; (3) conducting an on-going program of research and publication; (4) seeking external funds for research and service. (5) teaching, advising, and supervising internships of students in a MFT doctoral program, and (6) supervising doctoral research projects.

Salary and Rank: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
