Florida Atlantic University College of Education Department of Counselor Education Position Announcement Rehabilitation Counseling The Department of Counselor Education at Florida Atlantic University, recently ranked as sixth in the nation in terms of faculty productivity invites applications for a (visiting) faculty position at the Instructor/Assistant Professor level in Mental Health or School Counseling. The appointment will begin August 2011 or January 2012. The Program offers CACREP Master’s and doctoral degree programs in Mental Health and School Counseling specialties. The program is housed in a CACREP accredited Counselor Education Department. Minimum Qualifications: The successful applicant will have an earned doctorate (ABD will be considered) Mental Health or School Counseling or closely related field of study at the time of hiring, and be eligible for certification in either specialty. The candidate should demonstrate professional competence in rehabilitation counseling or rehabilitation psychology. Preferred Qualifications: Experience and training in their chosen specialty or mental health counseling preferred as well as a record of scholarly/research activity and program development in a CACREP approved program. The successful candidate will be expected to teach required courses in mental health or school counseling and core courses in counseling. The applicant will be expected to provide leadership while serving as a team member and participating in service and research activities with the mental health or school faculty. These activities may include grant writing, student advisement, program development, and supervision. Review of applications will begin immediately and the position will remain open until filled.
