Visiting Professor: Counseling Program

The Counseling Program at DePaul University seeks to fill a visitor non-tenure track faculty position in Mental Health Counseling. The appointment will begin September 2011. The ideal candidate should have the following:  strong teaching skills; membership in ACA; demonstrated clinical skills; ability to embrace and convey the mission of a program that emphasizes respect and service to diverse and marginalized populations; desire to work in tandem with faculty to contribute to a vision of growth; and a willingness to provide a student-centered approach. Responsibilities include teaching and service consistent with the qualifications of the applicant and the needs of the program department. Applicants are expected to have at least three years of previous experience as a mental health counselor and the ability to teach different courses such as group counseling, counseling skills, introduction to counseling, counseling theories, couples and family counseling, legal and ethical issues, counseling skills, and substance abuse.  Minimum qualifications include an earned Master's in Counseling or counseling-related field; preferred Doctorate in Counselor Education or Counseling Psychology (ABD will be considered). Prior experience with teaching a diverse student body required.
