Qualifications: An earned doctorate in Counseling Psychology, a focused research agenda, and psychology licensure or license eligibility in the State of Tennessee are required. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in both teaching and research, particularly as applied to urban settings. Seeking external funding to support research and service work is highly valued. Responsibilities: Teach graduate courses for the department, supervise doctoral research, mentor students, chair and serve on doctoral committees, and maintain an active program of research. Specific teaching responsibilities include courses in LGBT counseling, gender issues, and supervision of independent research. Experience teaching child and family, research methodology, or health psychology courses is also desirable. Setting: The University of Memphis, a Tennessee Board of Regents institution, is recognized by the Carnegie Foundation as one of two public research universities and the only community engaged public university in Tennessee.
