The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) is located in Edinburg, Texas, 15 miles from the border with Mexico and one-hour away from tropical South Padre Island. UTPA is a comprehensive regional university with an enrollment of 19,000 students. The Department of Rehabilitation has B.S., M.S. (CORE accredited) and Ph.D. degree programs and has undergraduate specialty tracks in Addictions Studies and Rehabilitation of Individuals who are Deaf. Currently, the program has $4 million in U.S. Department of Education grants including 6 long-term training grants. The Department currently has 14 full-time faculty positions with 12 tenured or tenure-track faculty. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: (1) Doctorate with emphasis in Rehabilitation Counseling, Rehabilitation Counselor Education, Rehabilitation Psychology, or a closely related area (2) A minimum of 3 years work experience as a rehabilitation professional with at least 2 years direct client services (3) Certified Rehabilitation Counselor or CRC eligible (4) ABD applicants will be considered. DUTIES: Depending upon qualifications, this position will teach in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. Faculty is expected to be involved in research, grant and service activities.
