Position Requirements: • Doctorate in Counseling or Counselor Education or related field required (prefer degree from CACREP accredited program) • Current and valid Texas LPC or LMFT licensure (or ability to obtain TX license within 6 months of hire) • At least 5 years higher education experience teaching in a Counseling or Counselor Education program Responsibilities: The Graduate Counseling and Psychology Program Director will direct the program’s curriculum, student clinical placements (both internally at our own counseling center and externally at a variety of local agencies), CACREP accreditation process, program evaluation, learning outcomes, and faculty supervision. The Director’s teaching responsibilities are 2 courses per fall and spring semester. Additional compensation is paid for summer teaching. This position will include a 12-month Program Director appointment and a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty contract at least at the Associate Professor level, effective August 2011. UMHB offers the Master of Arts in Counseling and Psychology. Five faculty teach over 50 students pursuing degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CACREP accredited), Marriage and Family Christian Counseling, and School Counseling.
