Associate or Full Professors – Disability and Rehabilitation Science

Positions: The College of Applied Health Sciences ( http://ahs.illinois.edu 
) at the University of Illinois invites nominations and applications for two (2) Associate/Full Professor positions in disability and rehabilitation science.  The positions offer opportunities to engage in interdisciplinary scholarship on disability and rehabilitation science and to join the Center on Health, Aging and Disability.  Joint appointments in more than one academic unit are possible.  Candidates with research interests in a broad range of areas related to disability and/or rehabilitation science are sought.

The College of Applied Health Sciences has nationally recognized units in disability related research and service.  The College is home to three academic units of Kinesiology and Community Health; Recreation, Sport and Tourism; and Speech and Hearing Science.  Research, education, and outreach activities in the College promote healthy aging across the lifespan, independent living and employment to the greatest extent possible, and disability and rehabilitation science. The College enrolls about 1800 undergraduates and 300 graduate students.  External grant and contract support includes a wide range of federal agencies, state agencies, and foundations.  The Division of Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES) provides services for all campus students with disabilities.  DRES began its pioneering work on disability issues and services 63 years ago when it became the first post-secondary support program for students with disabilities.  DRES now serves over 1200 students with disabilities on the Urbana campus.

Qualifications: Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in a discipline relevant to disability and rehabilitation science, have a strong record of research accomplishments, and qualify for appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in one of the departments of the College.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
