The Program: The Rehabilitation Education and Research Program at the University of Arkansas - Fayetteville is seeking an assistant professor to begin employment August 23, 2010. This is a nine-month, tenure-track position which will entail research, teaching and service in a Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE) accredited master's program and a nationally ranked doctoral program. Graduates receive the degrees of Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling and Doctorate in Rehabilitation Education and Research. The College: The College of Education and Health Professions offers degrees at the undergraduate and graduate level with more than 2,900 students pursuing coursework both on-campus and off campus. More than 200 faculty and staffare dedicated to the College's three broad strategic goals:(1) excellence in teaching, research and service; and (2) growth in enrollment and increased diversity; and, (3) increased public and private support. Duties and Responsibilities:The individual selected for this position will be expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities: (1) conduct research projects both alone and in collaboration with the program's graduate students and faculty from across the campus; (2) teach master's and doctoral level courses in rehabilitation counseling; (3) advise and mentor master's and doctoral level students; (4) obtain external funding to support research and curriculum endeavors; (5) assist in the coordination of the program pursuant to assuming the role of program coordinator; and, (6) provide service to the department, college, university, community, and profession. Minimum qualifications: Applicants must hold a doctorate in rehabilitation counseling or closely related discipline and a master's degree in rehabilitation counseling from a CORE accredited graduate program. Applicants must also hold a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) credential or be eligible for the CRC. Applicants not having the CRC credential will be required to obtain it within one year of employment. ABD applicants must have earned doctorates by July 1, 2012. Preferred qualifications:Applicants must possess a record of or potential for successful scholarship, graduate level teaching, and grant writing in rehabilitation counseling, and a record of or potential for program coordination.
